New Substitute Employees

Welcome New Substitute Employees

New substitutes must apply through the Applitrack system and been hired as a substitute for District 51. Once you have been contacted by the Substitute Coordinator that you have been hired as a substitute, please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete New Hire Paperwork as soon as possible. Paperwork must be completed prior to be activated as a subsitute. Please click on the link to complete your new hire paperwork prior to your scheduled Substitute Orientation. Click to complete new hire paperwork.  

  2. Licensed/Certified Substitute Teachers - Please bring a copy of your substitute/teaching license. If you have not received it yet, bring a copy of your notification from CDE indicating you have applied.

  3. Classified/Support Substitutes - You must be fingerprinted prior to beginning work as a substitute. You will need to pay $44.75 (cash or check) for the fingerprinting/background check fee. Please come to Human Resources to pick up your fingerprint card.

  4. Attend a Substitute Orientation. All hired substitutes must attend an orientation prior to becoming a substitute. Orientations will be scheduled as close to the end of the hiring block as possible.

  5. Review the Substitute Procedures Site to learn information including helpful tips on how to get jobs.

  6. Begin subbing!
